AEW Star Marq Quen of Private Party Ready for Return After Year Absence
AEW star Marq Quen of Private Party has spoken about his impending wrestling return, following more than a year away from the ring due to injury.
Quen’s last match took place in November 2022, and he has been sidelined since then. He had been dealing with an injury and initially attempted to heal without surgery. However, he ultimately decided to undergo surgery to ensure a full recovery.
Quen explained during an appearance on Isiah Kassidy’s YouTube channel that he was told that trying to heal without surgery would result in him not regaining the strength he had before the injury. This information prompted him to opt for surgery in April.
“I’ve been getting surgery, I’ve been staying at home, crying, miserable, depressed. It took a lot for me to get the surgery because… I was told that I can heal on my own.”
“So when I was trying to heal on my own, they told me that I wouldn’t get the strength back that I had before. So then that’s when I was like, by that time, it was already February, March.”
“Then I was like, why didn’t they say that from the beginning? I would have got the surgery back in December. So that’s why I got the surgery in April. Got this nice little scar right here, you see that?”
He revealed that he had torn his pectoral muscle and required a reconstructed pectoral tendon. Quen expressed his eagerness to return to the ring and conveyed his confidence, but he also acknowledged feeling some nerves and uncertainty about his return.
“I tore my pec, and I had to get a reconstructed pectoral tendon. Doctor words. I feel great. Ready, back in action. Am I ready to get back in the ring? Of course. Of course, I’m ready to get back in the ring.”
“Am I confident? Yes. Am I ready? I don’t know. I don’t know who I’m facing, I don’t know what it is. So all the nerves and all that other stuff’s gonna come into play. Gonna get blown up just because of not knowing what I’m gonna do. If I don’t get blown up, that means I didn’t do enough.”
While Quen is prepared for his comeback, the specifics of his return match have not been announced as of now. His last match before the injury occurred on the December 2, 2022 edition of AEW Rampage, where he and Isiah Kassidy faced Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in a losing effort.
It’s great to hear that Marq Quen is preparing for his return to the ring after a lengthy absence due to injury. What do you think his return could mean for his tag team, Private Party, and their future in AEW?
