Tina Fey and Amy Poehler brought “Saturday Night Live’s” “Weekend Update” to the Emmys 2024.

Fey, 53, and Poehler, 52, famously hosted the news segment on “SNL” together from 2004 to 2006.

But on Monday, the duo fronted an Emmy Edition of “Weekday Update” to introduce the award for Outstanding Live Variety Special.

“Good evening. I’m Amy Poehler,” she started. “I’m Tina Fey and we’ve reached the stage in life where we will only present awards sitting down,” Fey joked.

“Here are tonight’s nominees for Outstanding Live Variety Special. The only show that’s longer than when they aired ‘Titanic’ with commercials on TBS, the Oscars,” Poehler quipped.

On “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage,” Fey said of the comedian’s Netflix special, “Chris could be here tonight but if he wins, we’ll accept them on his behalf because we miss getting Emmys.”

In regards to “‘Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium,” Poehler said. “Now I can’t speak for Elton, but he-EGOT to be excited.”

Fey also gave a shout-out to Rihanna’s performance at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show, calling it “the concert so good it got us all pregnant.”

The final nominee of the category celebrated “the best musicals that were based on movies which will probably be movies again,” Poehler said as Fey interrupted, “Nothing wrong with that,” referring to her new “Mean Girls” movie musical.

Elton John, 76, won the award, making him the newest EGOT winner — a term used for entertainers who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.

John said in a statement, “I am incredibly humbled to be joining the unbelievably talented group of EGOT winners tonight. The journey to this moment has been filled with passion, dedication, and the unwavering support of my fans all around the world. Tonight is a testament to the power of the arts and the joy that it brings to all our lives. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my career, I am incredibly grateful.”

Meanwhile, original “Mean Girls” star Lindsay Lohan, 37, is not happy about a “fire crotch” joke in Fey’s new movie. In a 2006 paparazzi video, Brandon Davis referred to Lohan as a “fire crotch.”

“Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film,” Lohan’s rep said in a statement released Monday.
