- Here's what we know about Lydia and Milton's relationship today.
"Love Is Blind" stars Milton Johnson and Lydia Velez Gonzalez bond over rocks in the first extended conversation we see between the potential matches on season five of the hit dating show.
She's a geologist and he's an engineer, but their love of science almost isn't enough to help them get over their age gap. Lydia, 30, is emotionally expressive and searching for someone who values her for who she is. By contrast, 24-year-old Milton eventually admits to Lydia that he struggles to be vulnerable with people, but says she's helped him open up.
Lydia initially appears more interested in another contestant, 29-year-old Izzy Zapata — until Izzy cuts things off with her to pursue connections with Stacy Snyder and Johnie Maraist. At that point, she goes all in with Milton. Lydia and Milton's dates go smoothly after that until Lydia is forced to reveal that her ex is actually in the pods.
Lydia's ex is fellow contestant Uche Okoroha, who starts falling for Aaliyah Cosby. As their relationship progresses, Uche decides he needs to tell Aaliyah that he'd realized earlier during filming that his ex (Lydia) is also looking for love on the show. Once the secret is out, Lydia then has to tell Milton about her past with Uche. And he doesn't take it well at first.
But Lydia explains to Milton that she's falling in love with him and argues that she couldn't tell Milton about her past with Uche without ruining the experiment. Seeming to accept that explanation, Milton eventually proposes marriage to Lydia and she happily accepts.
While on vacation in Mexico, Milton and Lydia have fun banter and explosive sexual chemistry. But when they return to Houston, Texas, reality pops their love bubble when they have to face Uche at the cast meet-up.
Episode seven ends with Lydia storming out of a conversation with Uche when they disagree about what happened in their relationship and whether she exhibited behavior that could be considered stalking.
Though Milton does have a conversation with Uche about Lydia at the cast meet-up, he leaves with Lydia after giving her an epic pep talk.
The couple stays the course and says "yes" to each other at the altar on the "Love Is Blind" finale.
Are Lydia and Milton still together today?
On Sunday's reunion, Lydia and Milton confirm that they've been happily married for about a year and a half. Their bond appears stronger than ever and their families have also connected.
Milton's behavior on the reunion proves that he's as protective as ever of his wife. He respectfully confronts Aaliyah about the fact that she might've had a more successful outcome in the experiment if she'd set up stronger boundaries. His words move some of the blame for the end of Uche and Aaliyah's relationship off of Lydia.
But other than a brief video of their martial exploits over the past year and a half that plays on the reunion, the pair have remained quiet about their relationship on social media. We assume they now follow each other, but can't confirm that via Milton or Lydia's Instagram accounts because we can't see all of their followers.
While they haven't published any pictures together on Instagram (yet) they've both reshared messages of support from fans via Instagram stories viewed by Insider.
