Publish date: 2024-06-14

Luke Kornet’s parents, Frank and Tracy Kornet, raised three kids in Lexington, Kentucky, before they shifted to Phoenix. Frank is a former NBA player, having played two seasons with the Bucks.

The supportive pair, Frank and Tracy Kornet, found love at Vanderbilt University, and three decades later, their son did as well in the same place. The Boston Celtics player, Luke Kornet, had many doubters when he started his career.

But his father, Frank Kornet, always believed his son would make it big time. His two older siblings also played high school basketball, with Frank describing himself as a fan of his kids.

Though he had a good regular season last year, Luke couldn’t bring the heat in the playoffs, as Celtics couldn’t complete their comeback against Miami Heat in the conference finals.

Last month the website Fansided suggested Celtics could replace Luke with either Alex Len, DeMarcus Cousins, or Thomas Bryant to compete for the title in the 2023 season.

Luke Kornet Parents, Frank, And Tracy Kornet

Luke Korent’s parents, Frank and Tracy Kornet, come from different professional backgrounds. Frank is a former athlete, and Tracy works as a journalist.

The couple met while pursuing their higher studies at Vanderbilt University and have since been inseparable. The Kentucky natives have parented three kids achieving success in their respective fields.

Tracy Kornet And Her Long List Of Achievements As An Anchor

The famous mom of Luke Kornet, Tracy Kornet, is a seven-time Emmy Award-winning news anchor, host, and writer for WSMV4. Tracy graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in French & International Relations and began her career in journalism in 1994.

Her first work in the media world came at WLEX-TV as an anchor. Then came the time for the Kornet family to leave Kentucky as Tracy joined her dream job at The E.W. Scripps Company in Phoenix.

She hosted her own magazine show, Sonoran Living, which became highly successful. But her career changed when she was summoned to the new desk to cover the 9/11 attack. And since 2001, Tracy began anchoring the morning news.

In 2006, the family shifted to Dallas, where Tracy joined WSMV-TV. Since then, Tracy has become a vital part of WSMV-TV and has covered some of the biggest news.

But along with having a strong professional life, Tracy was also able to balance her life as a working mom. She is available on Instagram with the username @tkornet sharing snaps of her everyday work life.

Frank Kornet Works For Amazon

Luke Kornet’s dad, Frank Kornet, was one of the star players at Vanderbilt University. Standing 6’9, Frank Kornet played as a forward for four years at Vanderbilt.

In his four years at Vanderbilt, Frank Kornet played 117 games, averaging 8 points per game. In his senior year, Frank was even named to the all-Southeastern Conference team.

He was drafted as a second-round pick in the NBA at No.30 by Milwaukee Bucks but only played two seasons. He played 89 games, averaging 6.7 minutes per game, and scored 1.9 points.

After not finding much success in the NBA, Frank moved to Italy in 1991, playing one season with Ticino Siena before returning to the US to play for Fort Wayne Fury. He hung up his cleats in 1994 and later coached Liberty Christain School.

Last year, it was reported that Frank had left the job at Liberty Christian to work for Amazon. During Luke’s early basketball career, many didn’t have faith he would reach the NBA level.

But his dad, Frank, believed he would fill out and gain strength later in his career, just like him. After his son didn’t receive a single Division I scholarship offer, Frank made some calls believing his son would come good.

In an interview, Luke said if it weren’t for his father’s insistence, he wouldn’t have been playing college basketball. His dad had always been his No.1 supporter.

Luke Kornet Wife, Tierney Kornet, And Two Kids

Luke Kornet and his wife, Tierney Kornet, met at Vanderbilt University just like his parents.

Tierney is also a former athlete of Vanderbilt, having started on the basketball team and at the conference level as a jumper. While at high school, Tierney played soccer and was a member of the National Honor Society.

She graduated from Vanderbilt in 2017 with a degree in Economics but didn’t continue her athletic career.

During her interview with the Vanderbilt website in 2018, Tierney was reported to have been working as an FX Risk Advisory & Sales Analyst at the Deutsche Bank.

The two began dating in 2015, during Luke’s junior year. The NBA star proposed to his girlfriend on June 7, 2018, at Wagner Cove in Central Park, and they tied the knot a year later on August 2, 2019.

The couple has since welcomed two kids. Their second child, a daughter, was born last year in November. It had only been two minutes since Luke had started the game against the Knicks when he was informed that his wife was in labor.

The Celtics’ player then dashed to the hospital, being able to make it on time with 40 minutes to spare. The couple stays away from social media, so there aren’t many family pictures available of the two.
