That same year in June stream, she appeared to violate Twitch’s ToS by streaming in a store after being told by an employee that she wasn’t allowed to, but she didn’t receive any punishment at the time.
For a similar incident, she was dealt with a 24-hour ban in May 2018 for streaming in the gym without permission from staff, who consistently lied to when confronted about her stream by saying she was Skyping a personal trainer. At the same time, some users were calling for Twitch to ban her around the same time as the gym stream because she put another patron on camera without their consent.
The cosplayer regularly appears in a stream in revealing costumes, sometimes donning them only after her viewers earn them in some way, typically with subscription thresholds. People in the community point to the section of Twitch’s ToS regarding sexual content, which says “attire intended to be sexually suggestive and nudity are prohibited.”

In contrast, some defend her, arguing that it was far more offensive for the viewers to assume a sense of love with a monetary contribution.
In response to the viral controversy, Amouranth said, “Haven’t you heard the news? Every female on the internet is eligible to be dated by people who see her… No matter where she lives, no matter what their compatibility might be, no matter what their sexual preferences are, anything. If she’s on the internet, ‘bobs and vagena,’ you can date her.”
Despite the regular criticism and losing about 300,000 followers on her Twitch channel, Amouranth is still popular. As per several sources, average viewers on her Twitch stream rose from 2k to 10k from the end of 2019 to March 2021, which was mostly thanks to the increased attention that her recent “hot-tub” streams have been getting.
Eventually, in March 2021, she emerged as the most-watched female streamer on Twitch, surpassing long-time leader Imane “Pokimane” Anys by a mere 13,000 more streaming hours. However, Twitch has taken certain measures for penalizing Amouranth for initiating a hot tub stream and cut off a major part of their revenue stream. So, the fans have to wait and see whether Amouranth will lead up to be a queen of Twitch streamers or just a façade.

With the uprising of the controversy of this incident, most of the community assumed that the decision was made due to her consistent hot tube streams. But Twitch has been adamant that hot tub streams are not against the terms of service, so Amouranth’s ban seems to be for a different reason as the creator of ‘hot-tub,’ xoAerial, told Dexerto that her channel had not been demonetized yet.

While Twitch did not point out the reason for ads suspension, Twitch spoke broadly of the topic, saying it could take action at advertisers’ requests. Twitch said it was a mistake not to notify the affected streamers before or when action was taken.

In the coming months, Twitch said it plans to update its policies on sexually suggestive content to clarify better how it’ll navigate and moderate streams in response to the community of the hot tub streamers.
