Ludacris also known as DJ Chris Lova Lova is a popular hip hop rapper who took the world by storm with his catchy lyrics, hooks and zany style in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Although he started out as a radio host and presenter, he has called getting into music the best decision of his life. He’s also graced the silver screen with his actors that it’s almost surreal to think a hardcore rapper like him could pull off such a feat. One of the biggest films he has acted in to date is the Fast and Furious franchise in which he played the role of Tej Parker. There’s more to Ludacris than meets the eye. Read on to discover them.

Ludacris’ bio, real name, dude

Ludacris, whose real name is Christopher BrianBridges, was born on September 11, 1977 in Champaign, Illinois. Known as “Ludacris”, he is a rapper, actor, OAP (On Air Personality) and founder of Disturbing tha Peace. His parents, Wayne Brian Bridges and Roberta Shields, were African American.

He started rapping at the age of 9. According to him, he was always on the move to write more as his friends always wanted to hear new lyrics from him. He first attended Emerson Middle School and later went to Oak Park. In his freshman year he attended River Forest High School.

He and his family later moved to Atlanta, Georgia, during which time his father introduced him to more styles of music, from hip-hop to rock. While in Georgia, he attended Banneker High School and then graduated from Georgia State University.

Then he considered interning for a radio station where he could work and then get a chance to have his songs aired at low cost. This would prove to be a smart move later in his career as he successfully landed an internship with an Atlanta radio station, Hot 97.5 FM, where he later became a DJ. Interestingly, he was only 18 at the time. He also made his first rap debut on the ace hip-hop producer (Timberland’s) single “Fat Rabbit” while he was still working at the radio station.

In 2000, he released an independently recorded album called “Incognegro” on the Billboard 200 chart just by word of mouth alone. Following this feat, he was signed to record label Def Jam South, who repackaged the album and retitled it “Back for The First Time,” according to Billboard 200. The album went triple platinum. Other albums released to date include; Word of Mouf (2001), Chicken-N-Beer (2003), Release Therapy (2006), Theater of the Mind (2008), Battle of the Sexes (2010) and most recently “Ludaversal” in 2015.

Overall, his albums are between double and triple platinum. He has also won a total of three Grammy Awards. The rapper hit another milestone when he was on the Forbes list on “Hip-Hop Cash Kings.” This was 2014 when his estimated net worth was a whopping $8 million.

Journey into Acting

According to Ludacris, acting was never his thing, as his main focus from the start was music. However, he describes his entry into Hollywood and his current relevance in films as a stroke of luck. It’s no news that the very first Fast and Furious movie, released in 2001, starred then-sensational hip-hop rapper “Ja-Rule.” After the film’s mild success, Ja-Rule received a series of calls from the film’s producers with a new deal for a second film. The new offer included an increased payment from the original $12,000 to a whopping $500,000. However, Ja-Rule rarely took the calls or simply had excuses like a busy schedule or tour dates.

In 2003, after efforts to reach Yes-Rule for a second film, it proved abortive. The producer decided to contact another successful rap artist, Ludacris. When Ludacris was contacted he was very excited to play the role. Today, however, long after his rap game has waned, Ludacris remains wildly successful as the Fast and Furious franchise is currently entering its ninth installment. Other successful films he has been in are: Crash, Hustle & Flow, Earlier (both in 2005). He has also starred in critically acclaimed holiday comedies such as Fred Claus (2007) and New Year’s Eve (2011).

His work as an actor hasn’t gone unnoticed either, as he has received awards such as Critic’s Choice, MTV and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Wealth (income and earnings)

Ludacris is without a doubt one of the richest musicians in the world. Aside from being a breakout hip-hop rapper in the late 1990s (which made the rapper a lot of money), he managed to establish himself in films that went on to become blockbusters around the world. In addition to earnings from record sales and acting, he tours and serves as a master of ceremonies in various capacities. He is also a savvy businessman as he owns a restaurant called Chicken & Beer. Overall, his culminated net worth is estimated at over $31 million.

Family – wife, children

Ludacris is a happily married man who tied the Eudoxie Mbouguiengue of Gabon, Costa Rica on December 26, 2014. Interestingly, the day of their engagement was the same day they both got married. Isn’t it wonderful?

Before Ludacris married Eudoxie, he was already a father to two beautiful girls from previous relationships with different women. Their names are Karma Bridges and Cai Bella Bridges. However, Ludacris and Eudoxie had their first daughter Cadence Gaelle Bridges in June 2015. In all, Ludacris is the father of three lovely girls.

sister

You may have heard that Ludacris had a sister, however, this is not a fact, at least it is not entirely true. It will interest you to know that Ludacris is the only child of his parents. However, while he was an intern at Hot 97.5 FM, he met La La Anthony, aka Alani Vazquez. Lala is a television personality, New York Times bestselling author, businesswoman, producer and actress.

Before either of them became popular celebrities, they both started out at radio stations and worked their way up. They later put on a show together. Lala later started her own show called “Future Flavas” which she hosted with Ludacris. Although the pair are in no way related, Lala has said that she considers Ludacris to be her older brother.

Height

Ever since he was a teenager, Ludacris was a charmer. His fair skin cut hair and swag impeccably, making him a feast for the eyes, especially to the ladies. A striking feature is its size. He stands at an impressive 5 feet 8 inches. This is considered quite large for a man.
