Wonderful weekend weather set to come to an abrupt halt WSOC TV
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The beautiful weekend weather Charlotte has been experiencing is going to come to an abrupt end.
Cold temperatures, clouds and rain will arrive on Monday. Showers are falling just west of the mountains Sunday afternoon and they should be rolling into Charlotte towards the tail end of the Monday morning drive – and once they arrive, the warm air is history.
The showers should not be too heavy and they won't last too long into the day. However, once they move on, cold air and gloomy skies from the north will settle in -- setting up what is known as the "Carolina Wedge."
By Tuesday temperatures will be stuck in the 30s with cloudy and rainy conditions. Meanwhile, a stronger storm will emerge to the west of Charlotte on Tuesday afternoon. This will pick up the rain and keep it going all the way through Wednesday.
After three straight days of rain, the metro area only gets one break -- on Thursday -- with the next storm arriving by Friday.
